REBELS WIN 13-YEAR-OLD TITLE

The Northwest Rebels out of Whatcom County captured the championship of the Pony Regional All-Star Tournament with a five-inning, 15-4 win over Maltby last weekend.

KBC's 13-year-old All-Star squad finished its Pony Regional Tournament play Saturday with a heartbreaking 12-11 loss to the Spokane Toros. Spokane scored four runs in its last at-bat for the comeback victory. The Kirkland team dropped to 1-2 in the tournament; a win would have put KBC into the semifinal round.

13-YEAR-OLD TEAM: (Manager Eric Jensen): Chase Barringer, Steven Benaloh, Matt Follett, Nick Leverett, Tor Jensen, Hugh McGlynn, Sam McLeod, Jared Menssen, Sam Merritt, Greg Moore, Max Ouwehand, Nick Peterson, Andy Schoen, Coulson Wright, Andrew Yuen.

KBC's other teams did not advance beyond regional tournaments. Highline advanced from the Colt tournament, while Enumclaw took the Palomino regional title.
